There is so much to be said about hair I think I just start with three of the most common styles.
This is becoming one of the more popular styles because it is more mature (and easier to do) than sausage-curl pigtails. Curls can be loose or full-on ringlets, either works, especially for classic lolita styles. Bangs can be a little more casually swept aside as well.
What a lot of people think of when they think lolita hair. This style is harder to do and doesn't look good on a lot of people, though it fits very well with sweet styles. Not a good style for older lolitas because it tends to look a bit silly ^_^;;;
The hime cut very elegant way to wear straight hair, and the sides go well with headdresses and headbands that pull back the back portion of your hair. Excellent for darker styles.
This just touches on hairstyles that are specifically loli, essentially any style can be worn so long as it is elegant and neat. Messy pony-tails or buns are a no-no (even for casual loli). Hair should be worn down or mostly down. If you pull it back completely it'll look odd with the fluffiness of the rest of your clothing. Mostly make sure your hair is combed and washed and that the color of your hair coordinates with your outfit. Think of all the time/money you put into your lolita outfit and try and put an equal amount of effort into your hairstyle.However, we can't all have long coifed locks with those perfect bangs, so just to show a wider range of hairstyles, here are a few short, bangless, and naturally curly/frizzy styles.
